Σε μία πολύ ευχάριστη εξέλιξη, η Remedy καταφέρνει να αποκτήσει τα πλήρη δικαιώματα εκμετάλλευσης του Control, πνευματικού “παιδιού” της.
To studio ανάπτυξης Remedy Entertainment ανακοίνωσε ότι απέκτησε τα πλήρη δικαιώματα του Control IP, κάτι που μοιραζόταν προηγουμένως με την publisher εταιρεία 505 Games. Η Remedy φέρεται να πλήρωσε 17 εκατομμύρια ευρώ για το προνόμιο- ωστόσο, η 505 Games θα παραμείνει εκδότης για όλο το 2024, όσο θα πραγματοποιείται η μετάβαση.
Ο διευθύνων σύμβουλος Tero Virtala έγραψε σε ένα δελτίο τύπου ότι η εταιρεία θα εξετάσει τώρα “προσεκτικά τις επιλογές μας, γνωρίζοντας ότι το Control θεωρείται ελκυστικό franchise από πολλούς εταίρους”. Επιπλέον, ο Virtala παρείχε μια σύντομη ενημέρωση σχετικά με τα άλλα projects που βρίσκονται σε εξέλιξη τώρα που το Alan Wake 2 έχει επιτέλους κυκλοφορήσει: “Το Condor και το Control 2 έχουν προχωρήσει καλά τους τελευταίους μήνες και αναμένουμε οτι θα φτάσουν στα επόμενα στάδια ανάπτυξής τους κατά το πρώτο εξάμηνο του 2024”.
Για όσους δεν γνωρίζουν, το Condor πρόκειται για μία multiplayer προσπάθεια στο ίδιο σύμπαν, ενώ η ύπαρξη του sequel του πρώτου τίτλου έγινε γνωστή πριν 2 χρόνια και επρόκειτο να εκδοθεί από την 505 Games. Φαίνεται όμως πως η επιτυχημένη πορεία της Remedy επέτρεψε στους Φινλανδούς να “κρατήσουν” τις πνευματικές τους δημιουργίες.
