Η Nintendo με την παρουσίαση των νέων «Virtual Game Cards» αλλάζει ολοκληρωτικά τον τρόπο λειτουργίας των ψηφιακών παιχνιδιών.
Η Nintendo ανακοίνωσε μια σημαντική αλλαγή στον τρόπο λειτουργίας των ψηφιακών παιχνιδιών στο Nintendo Switch και στο επερχόμενο Nintendo Switch 2, με την εισαγωγή των «Virtual Game Cards».
Η νέα λειτουργία, που θα γίνει διαθέσιμη μέσω ενημέρωσης συστήματος στα τέλη Απριλίου, επιτρέπει στους χρήστες να διαχειρίζονται τα ψηφιακά τους παιχνίδια σαν «φυσικές κάρτες». Οι κάρτες αυτές, μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν σε κονσόλες που ανήκουν στην ίδια οικογένεια λογαριασμών Nintendo ή σε δεύτερη συνδεδεμένη κονσόλα, που ανήκει στον ίδιο χρήστη.
Οι χρήστες που θα λαμβάνουν παιχνίδια από άλλους οικογενειακούς λογαριασμούς μέσω τοπικής ασύρματης σύνδεσης, θα έχουν ένα χρονικό όριο δύο εβδομάδων. Μετά από τις δύο εβδομάδες, το παιχνίδι θα επιστρέφει αυτόματα στον αρχικό κάτοχο, διατηρώντας τα αποθηκευμένα δεδομένα. Η λειτουργία αυτή θα είναι διαθέσιμη τόσο στο Nintendo Switch, όσο και στο Nintendo Switch 2 από την κυκλοφορία του.
